Hylton Castle

Built in 1400, Hylton castle has served a variety of purposes. From housing barons and schoolboys to providing a headquarters for soldiers and knights. The castle now stands empty but is a spectacular sight to behold, especially due to the surrounding greenery of Hylton Dene, providing the perfect place to escape the hustle and bustle of busy Sunderland.
