Christmas contributions boost Cash for Kids Mission Christmas

The Inn Collection Group has provided a timely boost to Cash for Kids’ annual Mission Christmas campaign this week, with more the 700 gifts being collected across the north of England and Wales.

Since the campaign launched in mid-November, kind-hearted customers and compassionate colleagues have banded together to fill donation boxes to the brim with a dazzling array of gifts.

Everything from cuddly teddys to toy trucks and colouring books to beauty sets have been gifted to the campaign, ensuring all age ranges have received something from donations dropped into the company’s inns.

With the Cash for Kids team ensuring all items donated are received by children in the communities local to the inns, the impact made by the brand-new and unwrapped toys will remain close to home.

Alongside present donations, inns have also been raising funds with a £1 on the bill promotion allowing customers to donate during their visits for food and drinks and with a fundraising page online.

A national campaign, Mission Christmas aims to ensure children in poverty aren’t left out at Christmas and receive gifts when they would otherwise not receive a present on Christmas morning.

In the north east alone, where the campaign is heavily supported by Metro Radio and TFM, over 40,000 children will be helped by Mission Christmas in 2023, underlying the importance of the support shown by those donating via The Inn Collection Group.

Cash for Kids charity fundraising executive for North East & Cumbria Lisa Fox said: “To make our Mission Christmas campaign viable, we rely on support from our local communities across the country to bring gifts to our drop-off points and donate to the cause.

“The support from the customers and staff at The Inn Collection Group is greatly appreciated and will help fund many children’s Christmas this year. On behalf of the charity and the children, I would like to say a big thank you.”

PR & communications manager for The Inn Collection Group Andrew Robson said: “The response to the Mission Christmas campaign by our staff and customers has been incredible and we are so grateful to everyone for all the donations they have made.

“Collecting all of the gifts in for collection by the Mission Christmas team, I’ve been struck by the many different types of items donated and that has really hit home just how important this support is going to be this Christmas.”
