Charity Challenges
Snowdonia offers a range of charity challenges that combine endurance sport with meaningful fundraising. Each year, participants take on the region’s mountains, trails, and summit routes to raise money for a wide variety of causes, all while experiencing the dramatic landscapes of Eryri National Park.
Popular options include charity ascents of Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon), organised mountain hikes, and supported trail running events across the national park. These challenges attract individuals and groups looking to test themselves physically while contributing to important charitable efforts.
Snowdon Ultra Marathon - 11-12th July 2026
The Snowdonia Ultra Marathon is one of the standout events in the Eryri (Snowdonia) trail running calendar, taking place as part of the wider Snowdonia Trail Marathon weekend in July 2026. Based in Llanberis, the race brings together some of the most challenging and scenic ultra running routes in North Wales.
Covering approximately 57km with around 2,199m of ascent, the ultra follows a demanding mountain course that showcases the very best of Snowdonia’s terrain. The route is fully supported with aid stations, marshals, and clear course marking, but it remains a true mountain ultra -technical underfoot, with significant climbs and fast, rewarding descents. It’s also an UTMB-indexed race, attracting experienced ultra runners from across the UK and beyond.
