ICG team keep on run-inn supporting NE Youth

Big-hearted team members at The Inn Collection Group are lacing up their running shoes as they get set to take on the Great North Run for regional young people’s charity, NE Youth.

Seven members of the hospitality group’s central support hub team will tackle the world’s biggest half marathon on September 10 and are raising funds in support of the charity that is dedicated to supporting young people aged 11-25 and youth organisations in the north east.

Accounts assistants Charlotte Green and Dean Palmer, people assistant Jake Henderson, talent coordinator Rebecca Kidd, ops manager Joe Lavin, reservations manager Dan Patterson and project manager Dan Wallace are those training to face the legendary Newcastle to South Shields course.

Supporting the charity since 2019, this is the second year that members of The Inn Collection Group have ran raising funds to support NE Youth and variety of youth work programmes, including community-based youth sessions and programmes in schools and colleges.

During that time, The Inn Collection Group have carried out numerous activities to support NE Youth, including sponsored runs and hikes, quiz nights, bake sales and much more.

The group also sponsored NE Youth’s annual Clay Pigeon Shoot Event in recent years by providing full bar facilities, helping the group to raise more than £200,000 over the last three editions of the event.

Looking ahead to the challenge of the run, Dan Patterson said “Our group is training hard and we are hoping to raise a good amount to support a worthwhile cause.

“The Inn Collection Group have supported NE Youth for a number of years now and we hope our support will allow them to continue the excellent work they do with young people across the north east.”

Jon Niblo, NE Youth chief executive said:  “At NE Youth we place great value on our relationship with The Inn Collection Group and therefore we are delighted to be collaborating on such an iconic regional event. Huge thanks and good luck to all runners.”
