St Aidan’s Church at Bamburgh founded on the site of the present church in 635 by Saint Aidan. A shrine marks the spot where St Aidan is believed to have died.

A visit the Farne Islands is rated by Sir David Attenburgh as one of the UK’s top wildlife experiences. See the UK’s largest grey seal colony, up to 23 varieties of seabirds including the colourful puffin and look out for dolphins, whales and porpoises which are often spotted. Boat trips leave from the harbour beneath the Bamburgh Castle Inn.
