Changes are afoot at Waterhead Bay in Ambleside as The Inn Collection Group continue renovations to its four premises in the area.
Ambleside Lake House, The Regent Hotel, The Wateredge Inn and The Waterhead Inn are all undergoing significant refurbishment by the Newcastle-based pub with rooms operator, as they continue to make significant investment to their estate in the Lake District.
And for the first two properties in the list this process will also see a change in identity, as they become annexes to The Waterhead Inn and The Wateredge Inn respectively.
The Regent Hotel is undergoing the biggest transformation, with the venue now rebranded as Windermere Rooms.
Operating to a model successfully employed at The Angel Inn at Bowness, the switch will see the redundant reception and public areas replaced by new room spaces with guest services such as check-in and breakfast now hosted at The Wateredge Inn.
With the two buildings opposite each other on either side of Borrans Road the changes will allow more people to enjoy a stay on the shores of Windermere, with no impact on the levels of service that guests have come to expect from a site part of The Inn Collection Group.
A similar process is also underway opposite The Waterhead Inn, as the new Lake House also sees an increase in its room count by moving guest services.
As at Windermere Rooms, the spaces freed up by the changes will see the creation of additional rooms and allow more guests to enjoy the peace of the elegant country mansion’s tranquil grounds.
With a slightly bigger distance between the annex and the main site, parking facilities will remain available at Lake House.
Once complete, the works will see an increase in available The Inn Collection Group bedroom spaces in the bay, with an additional 16 rooms set to be created across the refurbishments taking the total number to 133.
