Directions

From the North: Leave the M6 at Junction 40, taking the A66 towards Keswick for 15 miles; before reaching Keswick turn left onto the B5322, signposted for Thirlmere. When you join the A591 continue on to Ambleside (via Grasmere). From Ambleside follow the signs for Coniston (A593) for 8 miles. Just before entering Coniston turn left down Shepherd’s Bridge Lane (signposted for Hawkshead). At the end of the lane turn left over the bridge, joining the B5285. The inn is about 500 yards down the road on the right.

From the South: Take the M6 to Junction 36 and follow the signs for Kendal/Windermere (A591/A590) to a roundabout at the bottom of a hill. Take the second exit to Windermere and continue to Ambleside. As you enter Ambleside, at the traffic lights, take a left, following signs for Coniston (A593) for 8 miles. Just before entering Coniston turn left down Shepherd’s Bridge Lane (signposted for Hawkshead). At the end of the lane turn left over the bridge, joining the B5285). The inn is about 500 yards down the road on the right.
