The students, who are participating on a two-year Young Ambassador scheme with Newcastle College, visited The Bamburgh Castle Inn where they met staff from across the inn’s sectors, from housekeeping and front of house, to the kitchen brigade, maintenance and marketing.
The Inn Collection Group’s operations manager Paul Brown said: “It was a pleasure to host the students and show them in a real life business environment just how important tourism is in our region and how so many different jobs and careers are dependent on visitors and to illustrate the skills people need to hone in order to be hospitable hosts.
“I hope we’ve been able to inspire these young people and show them the range of employment choices that are available within the hospitality sector and that is a rewarding and fun career with so many opportunities to progress through the ranks.”
