Whether you simply want to conquer the summit and take in the views or push yourself and tackle the full loop, starting at Great Ayton, discovering Captain Cook’s monument and then heading up to the summit of Roseberry Topping itself.

Windermere is a fantastic Valentine’s destination, whether you want to wander the lake or take a boat trip across it, it offers un-paralleled views. If you want to push yourselves, you could scale one of the countless fells surrounding the lake, taking in the views from a height. After taking in the scenery, you can explore the quaint local towns such as Ambleside, Windermere or Bowness-on-Windermere, where you will find a number of independent shops to discover.

The dramatic Bamburgh Castle overlooks Bamburgh beach and this coastal fortress is not one to be missed. Take a look around and uncover the history of the breath-taking grounds. Afterwards, why not take a romantic stroll across Bamburgh Beach towards Seahouses, an expansive white sand beach, great for a long walk at any time of the year. From the beach you will spot the impressive Farne Islands, home to a number of animals including grey seals and seabirds. Behind the beach you will find the dunes of Sandy Hills, which are brimming with a wide variety of flora and fauna and has been declared a site of special scientific interest.

Seahouses is a fantastic coastal village, often referred to as the gateway of the Northumberland coast. The village is buzzing with people all year round and is home to an array of local shops and pubs, including our very own Bamburgh Castle Inn!
