Accounts Assistant Role – Revenue

We are looking for someone to join the Revenue section of the Finance Team, with the possibility of some cross over into the other finance teams.

The company is expanding and as such we need more brilliant people to join our team.  The opportunity has arisen to come and join our finance department, working as part of a close-knit team, helping to manage the 30+ sites we now own.

We are looking for someone to join the Revenue section of the Finance Team, getting involved with the sales and banking aspects of the business, although there will be the possibility of some cross over into the other finance teams.  Accounts knowledge is beneficial, but we’re equally looking for someone who has had experience in the hospitality industry and wants to move into a Head Office accounts role.

Job Description

  • Being assigned a number of sites to look after and ‘own’ in terms of their sales information and reconciliations
  • Weekly entry of sales data into Sage200 from Zonal (the till system)
  • Weekly reconciliations of PDQ, online and other methods of payments
  • Reconciliation of balance sheet accounts
  • Problem solving when variances arise
  • Weekly input and reconciliation of bank statements
  • Posting weekly cash expenses
  • Communication with the General Managers of Sites and the Operations Managers as needed for your sites, including site visits
  • Assist with month end tasks as required such as stock, accruals etc
  • Other ad hoc duties as required

Essential Skills

  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to use own initiative and problem solve
  • Reconciliation experience for balance sheet accounts
  • Use of Excel
  • Organised and manage time well
  • Friendly and approachable manner

Desirable

  • Accounting knowledge, or a desire to move into an accounts role, having had experience with the financial side of things while field based
  • Knowledge of Sage 200, but this will also be taught
  • Knowledge of EPOS systems such as Zonal, although this will be taught

This position would ideally be for someone wanting a full time position (35 hour working week), but we are open to discussion for the right candidate.  It will be based working in our new Head Office at Quorum Business Park near Newcastle, but with the option of some home working once the initial training period has been successfully completed.
