Accounts Assistant – Revenue

Come and join our finance department, working in a close knit team to deliver the objectives of the business.  The company is expanding and as such we need more brilliant people to join our team.

We are looking for someone to join the Revenue section of the Finance Team, with the possibility of some cross over into the Purchase Ledger or Payroll functions, depending on experience.

The role will involve:

  • Being assigned a number of our sites to look after and ‘own’ in terms of their sales information and reconciliations
  • Weekly entry of sales data into Sage200 from Zonal
  • Weekly reconciliations of PDQ, online and other methods of payments
  • Reconciliation of balance sheet accounts
  • Problem solving when variances arise
  • Weekly input and reconciliation of bank statements
  • Posting weekly cash expenses
  • Communication with the General Managers of Sites and the Operations Managers as needed for your sites
  • Assist with month end tasks as required
  • Other ad hoc duties as required

Essential skills:

  • Accounting knowledge, whether from experience or education
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to use own initiative and problem solve
  • Reconciliation experience for balance sheet accounts
  • Use of Excel
  • Organised and manage time well
  • Friendly and approachable manner

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of Sage 200
  • Knowledge of EPOS systems

This position would ideally be for someone wanting a full time position (35 hour working week), but we are open to discussion for the right candidate.  It is working in our Head Office in Alnwick, with a  salary between £19k-£23k, dependent on experience.
