WINTER WONDERLAND BIRDWATCHING PACKAGE FEB 4th - 7th

Join award-winning operator Northern Experience Wildlife Tours for a four-day birdwatching spectacle.

Staying at The Bamburgh Castle Inn, enjoy three nights dinner, bed and breakfast and two days guided birdwatching on the Lindisfarne National Nature Reserve, which encompasses both Holy Island and many miles of unspoilt coastline.

This is an excellent destination both during migration periods and particularly in the winter when vast flocks of wildfowl, including almost the entire Svalbard breeding population of Pale-bellied Brent Geese, create a stunning mosaic on the coastal mudflats.

Day One

After checking in at the Bamburgh Castle Inn after 16:00, you'll have chance to recover from your journey before meeting up with our guide and other holiday participants at 18:30 in the bar.

Day Two

We visit the stunning post-industrial landscape of Druridge Bay and the southeast Northumberland coast, in search of wintering waders, wildfowl and other species that have arrived for the winter. On returning to your accommodation there will be time to relax before dinner. 

Day Three

We journey north to the Lindisfarne NNR to observe the large flocks of waders and geese including almost the entire Svalbard-breeding population of Pale-bellied Brent Geese. On returning to your accommodation there will be time to relax before dinner, followed by an informal question and answer session, where you can test your group leader with any wildlife questions that you may have. 

Day Four 

This tour concludes after breakfast on the final morning, with departure by 10:00.

Seabird Spectacle Birdwatching & Photography July 1st to 4th and July 15th to 18th

Book onto a three-night Seabird Spectacle which showcases amazing seabird colonies on the Northumberland coast and the photographic opportunities that they offer.

Running from July 1st - 4th and July 15th - 18th, tours include three nights’ dinner, bed and breakfast and two days birdwatching and photography opportunities, transport and packed lunches. 

Day One

We travel south to Druridge Bay and take a cruise around Coquet Island, home to Puffins, terns and Britain’s rarest breeding seabird, the elegant and beautiful Roseate Tern. We shall then explore the “string of pearls” that is Druridge Bay. On returning to your accommodation there will be time to relax before dinner.

Day Three

We join a short cruise to the Farne Islands,where the magnificent seabird colonies can be viewed from the sea and on land, as the trip includes landings on Staple Island and Inner Farne, where close views of Puffin, Razorbill, Guillemot, Kittiwake, Shag and Arctic, Sandwich and Common Tern can be enjoyed together with Grey Seals. On returning to your accommodation there will be time to relax before dinner, followed by an informal question and answer session, where you can test your group leader with any wildlife or photography questions that you may have

Day Four

This holiday concludes after breakfast on the final morning.
